Gangaajal Full Movie Plot

The film is set in the fictitious district of Tejpur in Bihar, where crime and corruption are rampant. The local police are controlled by the dons Sadhu Yadav (Mohan Joshi) and his son Sunder Yadav (Yashpal Sharma), who have links with the ruling party. The police are either corrupt or helpless, and often resort to brutal methods to deal with the criminals.

Amit Kumar (Ajay Devgn) is an honest and upright IPS officer who is transferred to Tejpur as the new Superintendent of Police. He is shocked to see the state of affairs in the district, and decides to reform the police force and bring law and order. He faces resistance from his subordinates, especially Inspector Bachcha Yadav (Mukesh Tiwari), who is loyal to Sadhu. Amit also faces pressure from his wife Anuradha (Gracy Singh), who wants him to take a safer posting.

Amit tries to crack down on the criminal activities of Sadhu and Sunder, who are involved in kidnapping, extortion, murder and rape. He arrests some of their henchmen and tries to gather evidence against them. However, he finds that the judiciary is also compromised, and his efforts are thwarted by the lack of witnesses and proofs.

Meanwhile, a group of villagers led by Masterji (Akhilendra Mishra) start taking matters into their own hands, and pour acid into the eyes of some of the criminals who have escaped justice. They call this act "Gangaajal", or holy water, as they believe it is a divine punishment for their sins. This creates a wave of fear among the criminals, but also sparks a debate on the morality and legality of such vigilante justice.

Amit tries to stop this practice, as he believes in the rule of law and due process. He also tries to convince Masterji that his actions are wrong and will only lead to more violence. However, he faces opposition from some of his own men, who support Masterji's cause. Amit also realizes that some of his men have been using Gangaajal as a tool to settle their personal scores or extort money from innocent people.

The situation escalates when Sunder kills Masterji's daughter after raping her. Masterji vows revenge, and pours acid into Sunder's eyes. This triggers a riot between Sadhu's supporters and Masterji's followers. Amit tries to control the situation, but is attacked by Bachcha, who reveals that he has been working for Sadhu all along. Amit manages to kill Bachcha, but is severely injured in the process.

In the climax, Amit confronts Sadhu at his hideout, where he finds that Sadhu has kidnapped Anuradha. Amit rescues Anuradha and shoots Sadhu in self-defense. He then surrenders himself to the authorities, taking responsibility for all the killings that have happened under his watch.

The film ends with a voice-over by Amit, who says that he does not regret his actions, as he believes that he has done his duty as a police officer. He also says that he hopes that one day, the people of Tejpur will get justice and peace, and that Gangaajal will not be needed anymore.
